What is CORSICA+?
CORSICA+ is a comprehensive, optional subscription offered to users alongside our testing hardware. While a subscription is not required to operate our machines, it does greatly enhance the user experience and provides a number of key benefits, namely:
1. Exclusive feature access
CORSICA+ subscribers gain access to an ever-expanding suite of features outside the primary output of stress-strain data, adding extra test functionality to their devices. Some of these secondary features include:
- MultiScale: gather accurate stress-strain data from samples as thin as 0.75 mm, and map mechanical properties across welds and complex parts at fine-scale spatial resolution.
- Brinell hardness capability: better tailor your testing to your material and historic testing data.
- Indentation surface profilometry: measure topographical line scans, gaining insight into the roughness of your samples or parts.
Other exciting features coming soon include a rapid-creep resistance test for our PLX-HotStage, as well as the ability to carry out high-temperature hardness measurements.
2. Expert application engineering support
Our dedicated team of application engineers are experts in materials science and the application of PIP testing. As a CORSICA+ subscriber, you’ll have direct access to this team, who are here to help with:
- Experiment design: Let our team help you optimise your experiments for the best possible results.
- Data Interpretation: We’re here to ensure you have the support you need to understand and leverage the data obtained from a PIP test.

As a subscriber, you’ll receive access to our regular software updates co-developed by our team of in-house materials scientists and software developers. These updates:
