In a significant move to streamline mechanical testing and enhance material insights, Airbus, the global aerospace leader, is collaborating with Plastometrex to support the standardisation of PIP (Profilometry-based Indentation Plastometry) - the innovative mechanical testing technique developed and commercialised by the Cambridge-based technology provider.

A key industry report by Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI), a leading global research organisation focused on advancing pipeline safety and reliability, and Blade Energy Partners (Blade), an expert consultancy specialising in engineering solutions for the energy sector, has confirmed the superior accuracy levels of Plastometrex’s PLX-Portable on seamless pipe, a non-destructive tool for in-situ material verification of oil and gas transmission pipelines.

Audubon Engineering Company (Audubon), an EPC solutions provider to energy and industrial operators, has employed PLX-Portable, a non-destructive pipeline material verification system that delivers reliable, immediate data to support integrity management and regulatory compliance.

Structural Integrity Associates (SIA), a leading engineering company with deep expertise in the analysis, control, and prevention of structural and mechanical failures, has adopted the PLX-Portable by Plastometrex. The PLX-Portable will be available for deployment on SIA customer pipelines to deliver reliable and fast material verification data, with full results accessible immediately in the ditch.

Plastometrex has provided Renishaw, a leading additive manufacturing OEM, with advanced mechanical testing capabilities. This collaboration integrates Plastometrex’s PIP (Profilometry-based Indentation Plastometry) technology into Renishaw’s testing processes, enhancing the precision and efficiency of mechanical property analysis and boosting part confidence in additive manufacturing.
